Piers Anthony - Author. He's got his fans, he's got his detractors. I love his Incarnations of Immortality series. In fact, I wrote the official Incarnations of Immortality Chronology, which will soon be transferred over here. I also liked his Apprentice Adept series for a bit there.
Rob Balder - A dementia artist, web comic publisher, and lover of cheez-whiz (don't ask), his webcomic Partially Clips is read by over 45,000 people.
Peter S. Beagle - Author and Hugo Winner. It's his fault that I'm a geek, having read The Last Unicorn more times than is allowable by law as a child. Such a sterling gentleman. Here is a photo of him I took at Dragon*Con 06. Don't buy anything of his unless you're buying it directly from his publisher, Conlan Press, or else he doesn't get royalties for the vast majority of it, particularly the TLU DVDs.
The Brobdingnagian Bards - Andrew McKee and Marc Gunn, the Bards are my favorite celtic duo, with fangirls all over the country and probably overseas as well. See below for Marc's personal/solo website as well. More laughs than you can shake a mandolin at, their concerts tend to involve a great deal of snarky banter between the boys. Kilt-checks optional. Check out my Bards photo gallery.
Eric Coleman - A balladeer of considerable talent, Eric and I once synergistically played the same song at the same time (he live at a show, me on the air on Radio Free Gallifrey). He invites you to bang his bald spot. :) You can also find a couple of pictures of him in my MarsCon 06 gallery and MarsCon 07 gallery.
Carrie Dahlby - Fellow Dementia Radio DJ, Carrie's an up-and-coming star in the Dementia music circuit. Having just released her first CD, Happy Ranch, she's off to a good start.
Dementia Radio - Home of Radio Free Gallifrey, Dementia Radio is an internet radio station that plays all kinds of oddball music. Most of the musical artists I'm linking here are either DR DJs or enjoy frequent spins on the station.
Dr. Demento - The father of dementia music, the good Doctor has ensured that 'novelty' music still has a home in the universe.
Doctor Who Ratings Guide - A very handy site with both frames and without that has reviews for every conceivable Doctor Who project and spinoff, including Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Smith Adventures.
Dragon*Con - Arguably the biggest and baddest media convention in the US, Dragon*Con typically has upwards of 30,000 guests in attendance. It has its own frackin' parade. I have pictures of celebrities, costumes, and other Dragon*Con goodness in those links.
Emerald Rose - My other favorite celtic band, Emerald Rose consists of four lads with an overfondness for kilts and Lord of the Rings. Their concerts are great fun to attend, and it's hard not to dance. Check out my Emerald Rose photo gallery.
The FuMP - The Funny Music Project is a collaboration by some of the best filkers and dementia artists on the planet. New free songs are available to download every Tuesday and Thursday nights (midnight Pacific), and the Dementia Radio DJs are already fighting over who gets to premiere what any given week.
Funny Musicians - A website run by Grant Baccioco of Throwing Toasters, these compilation albums are charity projects with submissions from all sorts of members of the Dementia music community. I'm personally more tied to Volume 2, as the original idea was mine. To date, both CDs have gathered over $1500 each for their respective charities.
GateWorld - The most comprehensive website for news regarding the Stargate franchise, it features exclusive news, interviews, and other content not found elsewhere.
David Gilmour - The elegant gentleman who helmed Pink Floyd since the 80s and guitar god, David Gilmour has recently been awarded the CBE by Her Majesty the Queen. His official blog always has the best information on what's going on with his career.
the Gothsicles - A video-game lovin' goth industrial band, the Gothsicles have completely rocked the house at both Dragon*Con and MarsCon and they will kick some major ass. There are some pictures of them in my Dementia, MarsCon 06, and MarsCon 07 galleries.
the great Luke Ski - The reason I really got into the whole Dementia Radio thing, the great Luke Ski is a great friend and extremely talented in many fields, ranging from artistry to voice impersonations to writing and performing his original dementia music. Buy his CDs! Check out my Luke Ski photo gallery. He also sneaks in during the Dementia, MarsCon 06, and MarsCon 07 galleries.
Hot Waffles - Banjo and Bass. Timm and Chris Waffle. These boys from California were once challenged to write a song about eggs and totally pwned the challenger at MarsCon 06. So there. You can see pictures of them in my MarsCon 06 gallery.
Information Society - From the 80s, Information Society has always been a staple of my musical collection and the gateway drug I had when it comes to loving dance/techno music. The fact that the former lead is cool enough to answer email from fans just makes it better. Here is their old site.
Marc Gunn - One half of the Brobdingnagian Bards, Marc has his own solo career and is quite the poet and podcaster. Check out all the cool stuff on his site. You can see pictures of Marc in my Bards photo gallery. You can also download or purchase a magazine he spearheaded (and I edited, go me!) called The Medieval Virgin, based on the Bards song 'Do Virgins Taste Better Medley'.
MarsCon - The only SF convention with its own dementia music track, MarsCon in Minneapolis (no relation to the one in West Virginia or somewhere) is also legendary for its room parties. Here is my MarsCon 06 photo gallery and my MarsCon 07 gallery.
MuggleNet - The best place to hear of news relating to Harry Potter, MuggleNet manages to survive without the smarminess of some other Potter fansites and offers excellent content.
Ookla the Mok - A comic book-influenced band, Ookla the Mok has rocked the dementia circles for awhile now. It amuses me that a couple of the guys were from my old stomping grounds on the Southern Tier of New York.
Penn State University - My collegiate alma mater, GO STATE!
Possible Oscar - A new venture fronted by Jared Ringold (aka Dr. Ted Nelson of The Nick Atoms), Possible Oscar's already growing into a staple of dementia music, already being played on Dr. Demento.
Guy Pratt - Bassist and stand-up comedian, Guy is most famous for having toured with Pink Floyd, although he's also toured with Madonna, Bryan Ferry, and Icehouse, amongst others. He's also got a cool blog, and I took several silly pictures of his book in various silly places, and they're in my Guy's Book gallery.
Raymond & Scum - Another California band, Jeff and Matt are terribly cool and laid-back. Their songs are often about the lives of a rock band or just guys in general, as well as popular culture. Check out the movie Stupid Teenagers Must Die!. They also are featured in my MarsCon 06 photo gallery.
J. K. Rowling - If you haven't heard of JKR, you must live under a rock somewhere. Rowling's website is very cool, with puzzles and games available for users, and it's also a great place to get the initial scoop on news of that most famous of wizards, Harry Potter.
Sudden Death - Based out of New Jersey, Sudden Death's dementia music involves popular culture, an excellent multimedia experience during live concerts, and some of the coolest and most cutting-edge lyrics in the business. Devospice of Sudden Death can be found popping up in the MarsCon 06, MarsCon 07, and Dementia galleries.
Throwing Toasters - Probably one of the few family-friendly acts out there, Grant Baccioco is also creator of The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd, a very family-friendly podcast. He also appears in the Dementia photo gallery.
Tom Smith - Legitimately billed as the fastest filker in the world, Tom Smith can come up with something within seconds... and it's good! One of his most recent triumphs is writing an entire CD from stem to stern in 24 hours. You can see photos of him in my Dementia gallery and an appearance or three in the MarsCon 06 gallery.
Weird Al Yankovic - The poster child for dementia music, Weird Al is a fount of geekiness and excellent parodies.
Worm Quartet - Probably the most cheerfully bizarre act within dementia circles, his music is probably not very family-friendly, but I dare you not to play it loud. ShoEboX can be seen in all his scary glory in the MarsCon 06, MarsCon 07, and Dementia galleries.
Yes - The official website of the band Yes, which also has links for the largest forum for their fans, appropriately enough called Yesfans.
