This image was submitted to be the official badge design for Southern Weyr's Skyfury Wing, a design that wasn't used. I like this image because it gives you the basic concept of 'skyfury' without belaboring the point. The image does indeed look better in a smaller size (whch is intended, the badge is supposed to go on the shoulders of jackets, after all). The original image was drawn and inked by hand, then it was meticulously colored in Photoshop. The basic pose was taken from one of the Dragonriders of Pern comic books (which did a lot of cribbing from Robin Wood's People of Pern, if you'll have noticed). I changed the position of the arms, I believe, but I don't really recall. I should find the original rough sketch and see what I did with it. I think it was a very small image in the background somewhere.
