This is an original character I'd created for a Stargate novel that I'd submitted but it wasn't published. I think the original pose is based on something featuring Rogue, but I'm not sure. It feels kind of Alan Davis-ish. Anyway, what's not to love here? I totally adore the blue and silver jacket. I got a few details wrong, such as the right lapel on the collar, but I totally adore how I got the shading of the bottom part of the coat done and of course the silver stuff just everywhere. I love her boots and their shading. I love the crystal in its holster. Yes, I deliberately chose the color of the crystal to match the one in The Dark Crystal. I love the silver highlights in her hair, although I'm not too fond of how I did the style of the hair over her forehead. I love the wings. I think they're just gorgeous. While not directly cribbed from an Alan Davis Phoenix aura, you can see the influence. I also like the gradual shading of the background. Not entirely smooth, I'm sorry to say, but it looks pretty enough. The ground and greenery is just enough to hint at a background without really making too much of a fuss about it. In general, this is one of my favorite images ever.
