This is the final photoshopped cover to The Medieval Virgin, vol. 1, iss. 1. I include it here in my artwork because there was a lot of work involved in creating this thing. The original photo is not mine, and sadly, I can't find out whose it was... but therefore, it means I can't hand it out. The magazine was a joke thing made by fans of Marc Gunn/the Brobdingnagian Bards, their song 'Do Virgins Taste Better Medley'. I had the honor (and headaches ;) ) of serving as editor of the magazine, which means I did all the layouts and stuff in PageMaker and arranged everything. Marc was a most demanding overseer (but handsome :D ), and we were at loggerheads a few times, but thankfully, we managed to get this thing done.
Now, this image starts with the original photo. I then created the green and yellow frames, using the Sponge filter and maxing out the size of the splatter. The gold was colored a bazillion different times until I could get something that hinted at medieval illumination per Marc's request. The photo was run through a filter or two to make it look more like artwork than like a photo. The dragon in the lower left corner was drawn and inked by hand and then colored in Photoshop. There's a larger version of that elsewhere on here.
