Of all the pieces I've done of Cyclops over the years, this is the one I liked the most... even tho I'm not really fond of the character in general. I always thought of him as too boring and uncaring of Jean Grey's feelings. I'd always give him his props in being a most excellent tactician and field-leader of the X-Men, but he was a boring emotionally stunted turd in all other regards. The whole thing with Emma just makes me cringe.
As for the artwork, it's completely original. It was slightly influenced by an anime/manga style of artwork, but in general, it's all me. He's wearing the Jim Lee-designed costume that still had him wearing his underwear on the outside like a dork. Oh well. Jean had cooler costumes.
