'The Chevron Guy', aka Walter Harriman

Walter Harriman

One of the few people who've been there since Stargate: SG-1 started, Harriman's name changed a million times due to confusing costuming and on-screen references until they finally sorted out his real name in an episode of Atlantis. This piece also inspired the best reaction ever: Gary Jones grabbed it out of my hands and ran over to Dean Haglund's table, shouting, "OH MY GOD, LOOK AT THIS!!!", and the two guys laughed about it. Gary then came back with it to say how cool it was and thanked me for it before signing it.

As for the artwork itself, I kinda like the expression on his face. The pose is just so 'get on with it' that we'd expect from a military person who works for a living. Patient toleration of officers and such. In terms of the shading, I really like how I did on this one. Sometimes blue is such a hard color to shade with, and there's always a tendency in my art to overdo it. But I like how this one came out.
